The Beer
The Savard family has been brewing and distilling for generations. Crafting liquor is a household ritual of ours and has always been in our blood.
From our great grandfather making gin in his bathtub during prohibition, to our grandfathers and fathers brewing up hundreds of batches of beer for family and friends. There’s rarely been a family household devoid of a Savard made beverage.
Our generation wants to start a New Tradition—one where all the collective efforts are above board and legal, while retaining the spirit and creativity of those previous.
Come help us write and share a new chapter in the family history books. This generation will embrace creative, passionate, and boisterous interpretations of classic styles.
The Plan
In 2016, Pat Savard and Tim Jolley hatched a plan to create a brewery. The two met while guiding for a ski and snowboard tour operator where they bonded over the love of craft beer and good times. Together they saw a space in the BC craft beer market and created a plan to make it happen.
It’s been a long journey trying hard to find the right location for the brewery. Upon discovering Comox, BC, everyone knew this was the perfect community to build the business.
New Tradition Brewing is the result of hard work by Pat, Tim, their families, and friends who’ve contributed in countless ways to make this dream a reality.
The Tasting Room
The tasting room is our vision to make a comfortable sustainable space to serve our community. Being stewards for the environment, the decor is hand crafted for the brewery, with a mixture of up-cycled wood from previous projects and wood sourced from local mills.
We cannot wait to serve you in beautiful downtown Comox.
